Tell Senator Mikulski to Support Cleaning Up Power Plants

The EPA has the authority to require coal plants and other big smokestack industries to meet modern standards for global warming pollution.  But the House of Representatives' energy legislation, the American Clean Energy & Security Act, took away this authority.

Now, the coal industry and their allies in Congress are trying to use the energy bill in the Senate to block ANY EPA action to require existing coal plants to meet these standards for global warming pollution.

A coalition of legislators, led by Senator Menendez of New Jersey, are joining together to show their support for keeping the EPA's authority intact.

Dear Senator Mikulski,

The Senate energy bill would be substantially weakened and our transition to clean energy would be delayed if the EPA loses its authority to clean up dirty power plants. Therefore, I urge you to join Senator Menendez and Senator Cardin and sign the letter of support that protects EPA's Clean Air Act authority to require coal plants to meet modern standards for global warming pollution.

Sincerely,
